The repagination module is used to make changes to the sequence of spreads or pages of a catalogue in ongoing production. Like the Document Pool Paginator it also manipulates both the publication structure and the layout documents.
In this case we already have a publication structure and associated layout documents. In order to keep the link between the documents and the database they must be moved together. This means that when the user reshuffles the spreads or pages in the catalogue the repaginator keeps track of the movements and renames and reorders the spreads in the database. Then it renames the layout documents and edits the section and start page information to match the target page numbers in the catalogue.
